Texas Floor Covering, Inc. takes its corporate commitment to the environment seriously.
After each job, we collect and recycle the crates, pallets, plastic wrapping and cardboard boxes used to package base materials, wood, vinyl planks and ceramic tiles. We also are able to recycle existing carpet tiles.
To get an idea of the amount of recyclable materials coming in each day, imagine a typical job with 500 yards of carpet, a wood reception area and a break room with VCT. That job alone would produce 93 carpet tile boxes, 20 wood plank boxes and 5 VCT boxes. That is 118 boxes, plus plastic materials and used carpet that would otherwise be going into a landfill. All from one job! In a typical year, Texas Floor Covering, Inc. may recycle over 370,000 boxes!
Once recycled, much of the materials are turned into composite lumber, roofing shingles, railroad ties, automotive parts, stepping stones and much more. Interestingly enough, these products last far longer than those they replace while reducing the number of trees that need to be cut down and the use of chemicals as preservatives.
In addition to the recyclable waste we collect, we are proud to feature many suppliers who use post-consumer recycled content in their products.
